Anatomy of an Entrepreneur

with 2 comments

What makes an Entrepreneur?

We have heard from many about this – most of them have never been entrepreneurs. The Kauffman Foundation wrote a report in July 2009 titled (and link)  “The Anatomy of an Entrepreneur: Family Background and Motivation”.

The authors of this report surveyed 549 entrepreneurs and have put together a brilliant and insightful report. The report is brilliant enough that I do not feel the need to editorialize it myself – so go ahead and have a read.

Kudos to the authors who are listed below.

  1. Vivek Wadhwa, Associate Director, Center for Entrepreneurship and Research Commercialization at Duke University and Senior Research Associate, Harvard Law School
  2. Raj Aggarwal, Dean and Sullivan Professor College of Business Administration, The University of Akron
  3. Krisztina “Z” Holly, Executive Director, USC Stevens Institute for Innovation Vice Provost for Innovation, University of Southern California; AND
  4. Alex Salkever Visiting Researcher Masters of Engineering Management Program Pratt School of Engineering, Duke University
